It empowers African artists to create authentic, globally-competitive music using AI that truly understands African musical heritage — the soul of Highlife, the energy of Gqom, the groove of Soukous. Available on iOS and Android with complete offline functionality and integrated monetisation including NFT minting and streaming distribution.
The Engineering Challenge
- African musical genres — Highlife, Gqom, Soukous, Afrobeats — have unique rhythmic DNA, groove patterns, and instrument signatures that generic Western music AI tools completely fail to understand or replicate.
- Professional music production tools require sustained high CPU performance for AI inference and DSP processing — challenging on the wide range of Android devices from flagship to budget models used across Africa.
- Internet connectivity is unreliable — the app needed complete offline functionality with all AI models, composition tools, and instrument libraries working without any network connection.
- Real-time collaboration between African artists needed to work even on unstable connections, requiring offline sync with compression small enough to share via WhatsApp or Bluetooth.
- Monetisation integration was essential — African artists needed direct access to streaming platforms, NFT minting, mobile money payments (M-Pesa, Airtel Money), and a beat marketplace without leaving the app.

- Implemented intelligent Model Management with lazy loading, thread pooling, and memory optimisation — 150MB base model pack enables immediate offline creation on any device without needing full downloads.
- Developed Performance & Optimisation layer with intelligent thermal management (pauses at 45°C), adaptive battery conservation below 30%, hardware acceleration, and efficient thread management for smooth production on all devices.
- Built Collaborative Creation Network with real-time offline sync — share compressed projects under 5MB via WhatsApp or Bluetooth, record voice note feedback directly in the timeline, and access community sound packs from African producers.
- Integrated Smart Monetisation Hub: direct distribution to streaming platforms, beat marketplace with built-in licensing templates, NFT minting, watermarked previews for promotion, track analytics, and mobile money payments (M-Pesa, Airtel Money).
- Implemented CI/CD & DevOps pipeline across Kotlin, C++, Rust, and Swift codebases with Espresso UI tests, automated APK/AAB signing, multi-language build automation, and 80%+ code coverage.
