PART IDENTIFIER ยท AI VISUAL PART RECOGNITION

Snap a photo.
Know the part.

Part Identifier recognises an unknown machinery or vehicle part from a single photograph. Image recognition matches it against a parts database and returns the name and part number, specifications, compatible equipment, manufacturer details, and where to buy it โ€” in seconds, from a phone, in the field.

What It Does

Identification, specification and sourcing in one step.

Point a camera at the part. Everything below comes back from that one image.

Photo Identification

Identify From a Single Photo

Take or upload a picture of the unknown component. The system reads contours, labels, surface markings and design features, and compares them against a database of known parts โ€” no part number, no catalogue, no forum thread required.

Image Recognition

AI Image Recognition

Matching is driven by machine learning rather than text search, so a part still resolves when it is worn, scratched, greasy, or missing its label entirely โ€” the condition most parts are actually in when somebody needs to identify them.

Part Specifications

Full Specification Returned

A match returns the part name and number, dimensions and specifications, the systems or equipment it is compatible with, and manufacturer details โ€” enough to order with confidence rather than to guess.

Alternatives

Alternatives & Upgrades

Where an exact match is discontinued or slow to source, the result set includes related alternatives and upgrade paths, so a retired component does not become a stalled repair.

Sourcing

Availability & Where To Buy

Results carry availability and pricing alongside the identification, closing the gap between working out what a part is and actually getting one on order.

Field Use

Web App and Mobile App

Part Identifier runs as a web app and a mobile app, because identification happens at the machine โ€” on a workshop floor, under a bonnet, or at a plant โ€” not back at a desk.

About Part Identifier

Built by FoogleTech, from our computer-vision work.

Part Identifier is developed by FoogleTech Software in Surat, India. It grew out of the visual search and image recognition work we do for clients โ€” the same discipline behind our AI/ML and embedded vision projects โ€” applied to a problem our own engineers kept hitting: an unmarked component, and no fast way to find out what it is.

It launched as a web app and a mobile app, and it is aimed squarely at the moment of use: somebody holding a part, needing a name, a specification and a source, without a catalogue or a part number to start from.

The Problem We Solved

An unmarked part stops the whole job.

Identifying a component the old way means trawling catalogues, comparing photographs on forums, or describing a shape to a supplier over the phone. It takes hours, it depends on somebody else recognising it, and it frequently ends in the wrong part being ordered.

The cost is not the part. It is the machine standing idle while the right one is worked out, ordered, and delivered โ€” twice, if the first guess was wrong. Part Identifier removes the guesswork from the first step so the rest of the job can proceed.

โœ•Unmarked or worn-off part numbers
โœ•Hours lost to catalogue searching
โœ•Wrong parts ordered and returned
โœ•Obsolete components with no listing
โœ•Equipment idle while sourcing

How It Works

From photograph to part number in seconds.

01

Capture

Take a photo of the unknown part with a phone, or upload an existing image from the web app.

02

Analyse

The system reads the image for contours, labels, surface markings and design features that distinguish one component from another.

03

Match

Those features are compared against a database of known parts, and the closest candidates are ranked.

04

Specify

The match returns part name and number, dimensions and specifications, compatible equipment and manufacturer details.

05

Source

Availability, pricing and related alternatives come back with the identification, so the part can go straight on order.

FAQ

Common questions.

Have more questions? Our team is ready to help.

What kinds of parts can it identify?
+

Part Identifier is built for machinery and vehicle components โ€” the kind of unmarked, worn or obsolete part that turns up during a repair with no number on it. It is used by mechanics, HVAC and electronics repair technicians, industrial maintenance teams, warehouse and inventory staff, and people doing their own repairs at home.

Do I need the part number or any markings?
+

No. That is the point of it. Identification works from the photograph itself โ€” contours, labels, surface markings and design features โ€” so a component still resolves when the number has worn away or was never visible.

What information comes back from a match?
+

The part name and number, dimensions and specifications, the systems or equipment it is compatible with, manufacturer details, availability and pricing, and related alternatives or upgrades where the exact part is discontinued.

Is there a mobile app, or is it web only?
+

Both. Part Identifier launched as a web app and a mobile app, because identification happens where the machine is โ€” on a workshop floor or in the field โ€” rather than at a desk.

What happens if the exact part is discontinued?
+

Results include related alternatives and upgrade paths alongside the exact match, so an obsolete component does not leave you without a route forward.

Can it be adapted to our own catalogue or equipment?
+

Part Identifier is built and maintained by FoogleTech, and visual search and image recognition are services we deliver for clients directly. If you need identification against your own parts catalogue or specialised equipment, talk to us about what that would involve.
