Project Overview
FoogleTech designed and built My Pocket — a comprehensive personal finance management mobile application providing expense and income tracking with categorisation, bill attachment, transaction sharing, recurring entry scheduling, graph-based analytics, interest calculators, multi-account management, budget tracking, multi-currency support, fund transfers, and data backup/restore.
The Engineering Challenge
- Personal finance apps either over-simplify or overwhelm users with accounting-software complexity — My Pocket needed the full feature set serious users need while remaining genuinely usable in daily practice.
- Recurring transactions — subscriptions, rent, loan repayments, regular income — are a core financial management pattern that most apps handle poorly, requiring users to manually re-enter transactions each month.
- Multi-currency support requires correct exchange rate handling, consistent currency display across all reports and graphs, and accurate fund transfers between currency-denominated accounts.
- Data privacy and portability are critical for financial apps — users needed complete backup/restore capability plus CSV export to ensure records are not locked inside the app.
Our Solution
- FoogleTech built My Pocket as a full-featured personal finance platform with a clean tab-based mobile UI — all features accessible within two taps, with a balance overview on the home screen.
- A recurring entry scheduler was implemented supporting daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly recurrence — automatically posting transactions on schedule with user confirmation.
- Multi-currency support was built across the entire data model — accounts, transactions, budgets, and reports can each be denominated in different currencies with correct conversion.
- Data backup and restore was implemented with encrypted options, and CSV export was built for all transaction categories — giving users complete data portability.
